Lake Powell 2008!

So another year has gone by and we successfully ate ourselves silly, got burnt at least one time, went down the slide a hundred times, jet skiied, water skiied (not me), wake boarded (not me), played some serious games of Speed Scrabble and Rich Man Poor Man, hit golf balls into the lake, and almost killed Piper on the tube! Oh what a good time we had! I have to admit I was a little nervous about going and being sick and hot but for the most part it was really fun! Here are a some pics.....
Playing Cards......... Riding on the boat....

Getting ready for our big swim across the lake.....More card games........

Ty skiing....

I don't have any good pictures of us tubing cause my battery was dead but it was really so funny to watch Piper's body fly across the lake! Thanks to everyone for planning the food and inviting us to come!!!! Can't wait 'till next year!

Welcome Home Brock!

Ty's cutest cousin Brock just got home from the Birmingham, England mission. Ty was soooo excited for him to come home. When my alarm went off for me to go to work Ty rolls over in bed and mumbles "Brock comes home today" and then rolled back over and went back to sleep. We missed him but we are so proud of him and all his hard work! And then to top it off we left the next day for Lake Powell where we got to spend a whole week with him!

Pool Party!!!!!

Brecken and Frank celebrated their birthdays at the Ivory's new beautiful home where we had a blast! We swam, the boys had a serious game of water basketball, we roasted marshmallows, had a dance off in the courtyard where Ty taught Lillian the "grocery shopper" dance move, and ate good food of course! The birthday boy..........
and the birthday girl who had the MOST DELICIOUS marzipan birthday cake! How could Ty say he wants a boy when he is such a sucker for all his girl neices???? I love these girls to pieces!

Okay I love boys too! His little face melts my heart!

Happy Birthday Becky!

For Ty's mom's birthday we went to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate! This is where we told Ty's family about the baby. However, no one was surprised because I was sick in Phoenix a few weeks earlier and asked alot of questions about babies! (I have never been a very good secret keeper....) But we had a great time and the food was great as always! Happy Birthday again to Becky! We love you!

So Long and Farewell to the Morgans

At the end of June we had a really fun BBQ with all of our friends to say goodbye to the Morgans. They are off to Boston where Bryson will be attending Harvard Law School. We are sad to see them leave but we are also excited for them and the adventure they have ahead of them.
We announced to all of our friends that we were expecting that night. Ty offered to say the prayer before dinner and he blessed the pregnant ladies one by one and included my name at the end. It was really fun to see everyone's reaction! But we couldn't let the night go by without taking a picture of the 4 pregnant girls.

The honored guests who we will miss!

Why do I feel like a dead mommy at age 23 and have no children yet????

So it all started when I was in Phoenix with my family on a girls trip that I started having a panic attack about how matronly I feel. I don't know if it is because I hang out with my little sister and her friends who are definitely more hip than I am or if it is because I am just getting older but it is getting scary.... So I thought I would do a little top ten list (Letterman Style) on why I might be feeling this way more and more...........

10. I have to wear a shade shirt under almost every stinkin' shirt I wear anymore.... I don't know about you but I seriously get so sick of the layers I have these days!

9. I have started wearing Danskos. (*Disclaimer: Please no one be offended I think they are cute and soooo comfortable. Obviously that's why I wear them but for some reason I have always linked them to moms. But like I said please no offense!)

8. I just ordered my first tankini (*Please don't judge :))

7. I no longer wax my eyebrows or dye my eyelashes in order to save money

6. I have smashed fruit snacks and pretzels all over my purse

5. I nanny four kids for my job (sure glad I got that finance degree!!)

4. My bottom is growing at an ever increasing rate

3. The permanent location at my house is the couch from the second I get home until I leave again except for the occassional run to the bathroom to hang over the toilet

2. I plug my nose everytime I walk by the pantry

1. It's probably pretty obvious after #3 and #2 but it is true! I am pregnant!!!!! I am 10 weeks along and I think the best way to describe how I feel is a dead mommy! But oh it is so worth it!

On a more serious note I just want to say how grateful I feel that Heavenly Father has blessed me with the opportunity to be a mom! Anyone that knows me very well knows I love kids and have dreamt of this day ever since I was five playing dolls. I am so grateful for Ty and the support he has been throughout the last six months as we have gone through this rollercoaster and I just pray everyday that the little tadpole in my tummy is growing into a happy healthy baby. I know we both have a lot to learn about being parents but I am so excited for the journey and grateful that I have him as my partner. Like I said before I am just so humbled that Heavenly Father has trusted me with one of his children and I hope that I can be the best mom possible.

Any one have a guess on the sex? Don't worry Ty wears a blue shirt to every doctor's appt and won't even discuss girl names so we'll see if it works. (.... I know! I know! I have tried to educate him on how the sex is already determined but he doesn't seem to care!)
